and Security
The College of Saint Rose is concerned about the
safety of all members of the campus community, guests and visitors. Several
policies and procedures are designed to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Presentations are made throughout the year as part of the College's Crime
Prevention Program. The Crime Prevention Program is based upon the concept that
all those in the campus community should be provided with the tools they need to
be responsible for their own security and the security of others.
The Campus Security office is located at 340 Western
Avenue and can be contacted from off-campus by dialing
454-5187 or from anywhere on-campus by dialing
extension 5187, or
*25 from any campus pay phone.

Escort Service
Security officers provide campus escorts 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week to
students and staff upon request. Members of the campus community may also
contact Campus Security from off-campus to arrange for an escort when they
arrive at the College.
Emergency Blue Light Phone System
These phones are located on campus walkways and in parking lots. They can be
used to contact Campus Security
in an emergency situation or to request a security escort.
Whistle Watch Program
The Saint Rose Student Association sponsors this program in cooperation with
Campus Security and the Albany Police Department. Whistles are available free of
charge to all members of the Saint Rose community.
Access to Campus Facilities
Except for residence halls, most College facilities are open when classes are in
session. During the hours that the College is officially closed, College
buildings are locked and only faculty, staff and students with proper ID are
admitted. Residence hall doors are always kept locked and are accessible only to
students living in that building. Resident directors and resident assistants
live in the residence halls and are on-call 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week.
Security Advisory Committee
The Security Advisory Committee includes administrators, faculty, staff and
students who examine policy and procedures and make recommendations to maintain
the safest environment possible.
ID Cards
ID Cards are issued through the ID Card Office which is located in the Student
Solution Center on the 3rd floor of Saint Joseph Hall. Office hours are Monday
through Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm; ID photos taken from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Your
initial Golden Knights ID Card is issued at no charge. However, if your card is
lost or damaged due to negligence, you will be charged $ 25.00 to replace it.
Your Golden Knights ID card should be carried with you at all times as it is
your official college ID and campus access card. Do not punch a hole or slot in
your card. If you do so and your card becomes disabled, you will be charged the
replacement fee of $25.00. Your ID card is valid for as long as you are a member
of The College of Saint Rose community. The functionality of the card becomes
void upon termination or interruption of enrollment.
Parking
All parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. Resident Freshmen are not
permitted to park on campus. The cost for a permit is $40.00.
